These are my beginnings as a drummer. Here I had been playing for probably a few months, and I was crazy about the Clash and U2. I was 13 and these are the first recordings of my life made on a portable compact stereo set next to the band, which in the interests of storytelling I will introduce: my dear school friends Lorenzo Rompato (strings and yells) and Fulvio Avignonesi (thicher strings and wails)... Oh, and I almost forgot! The recording studio was the garage/bedroom of our dear friend Massimiliano Quaroni.
Good times!!!

FotografieCarneval party, 87 or 88 at what is now the Goethe Institut of Rome. The fact that we were shamelessly plastered definitely contributed to the pathetic performance to which we subjected the eyes and ears of our friends. I'll never forget how much fun we had. The band was composed of my band friends Claudio Derflinger (wails and guitars) Fulvio Avignonesi (bass and ultrasonic sound) and Giandomenico Bonnanni (keyboards and ringlets, with whom years later I embarked on the Scala journey), Filippo Avignonesi (on the electric guitar, today a lutist and Tango dancer) and the various drunks that jumped on and off the stage until the final meltdown of the power amp that I borrowed from the bassist... It still cracks me up to think of it!)

This is during my high school final exams, and of the roughly one thousand school bands or so that that played during that time, I remember this quartet of 18-yr-olds most fondly, the only whose name I remember by name is this Danish Guitarist: Andreas.
Who knows whatever happened to him. I remember that he went back to Denmark at some point. Possibly the only foreigner who didn't find paradise here in Italy.
Andreas if you're out there, get in touch with me!!!
